ENS and ESI
Eary Neuological Stimulation (ENS) also known as the Super Dog Program is a series of 5 exercises performed with each puppy daily from day 3-16. This program was developed by the military in an effort to produce superior dogs. Years of research has proven that ENS exercises could have important and lasting effects. Benefits include - Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate) Stronger heart beats Stronger adrenal glands More tolerance to stress Greater resistance to disease In conjunction with ENS we also do Early Scent Introduction (ESI). We introduce each puppy to a new non-food scent each day. This early brain training accelerates development. It kickstarts the olfactory and neurological systems and may result in earlier proficiency and improved performance over what would normally occur without intervention. This has been proven to increase confidence and stability in puppies and dogs, help with greater nose awareness, and help them be more adaptive to change. /

Human Connection
We develop a solid foundation of trust, love, and connection with our puppies through caring for them and their mama from day 1. However, when we begin the daily head to toe puppy massages and handling exercises at day 17, we really start to see that human/puppy bond form. While puppy massages and handling helps desensitize the puppies, our primary focus is on creating trust and strengthening that human connection and bond with our puppies. Puppies are like little sponges from the time they are born until they are 12-16 weeks old. Connection, confidence, and trust develops gradually each day and we are able to use this as a stepping stone and foundation for all of the other training and curriculum that we do with our puppies. We know that human trust is a vital element in a puppy's development and will ultimately affect their adaptability their entire life. We believe that spending this time helping our puppies develop this connection is one of the most important things we do for our puppies during the short time they are with us! /

Socializing, Imprinting, and Desensitizing
Early socialization is crucial to raising a well rounded puppy. We are intentional in the way that we handle, socialize, and play with our puppies to help them learn this most important lesson... that the world is safe, people are kind, and dogs are friendly. In addition to ENS, ESI, and daily puppy massages, we introduce our puppies to age appropriate activities and stimulants each day beginning at approximately 3 weeks of age. These stimulants include things like barrier challenges, different surface textures, areas of the home and yard, tactical items, toys, noises, crates, people of all ages, cats, other dogs, and more. We are mindful of the puppies' fear periods to ensure that we are never scaring them and imprinting that fear in them for the rest of their lives. Instead, we create positive experiences for them to help build confidence in the world around them. Therefore, empowering our puppies to fulfill their purpose in life. /

The Puppy Call
One of the most important things we do with our puppies is what we call the "Puppy Call". When we start the weaning process at around 4 weeks we also begin imprinting the call on our puppies. In a special high pitched, happy voice we call "pup, pup, pup" each time they eat their meal. Within a week they recognize this special call, associate it with food, and come running anytime they hear it because they know that it means something GOOD is coming. We strongly encourage you to continue practicing this call with your puppy after you take them home. We hope it is never needed but it could potentially save their life in an emergency. Imagine with me... you are taking your daily walk with your dog, a squirrel darts across the road in front of you and your dog takes off after it, slipping away before you can react. There is a car coming and you only have seconds to act. With your dog out of reach the only thing you can do is use the high value puppy call. Instantly, upon hearing the call your dog stops and comes running back to you. Why? - Because this call is more valuable to them than ANYTHING ELSE! What just happened? The puppy call saved their life! I know this is just one extreme example and you say, my dog would never be put in the position for this to be needed. But what if? Wouldn't it be nice to have it in place just in case??? We think so, and that is why we take the time to imprint this while their brains are like little sponges. /

Cleanliness & Grooming
There are many benefits of keeping the nursery clean and sanitized. Cleanliness helps keep parasites and illness at bay. Puppies that are raised in a clean environment are easier to potty train. Our puppies learn early on that there are designated areas for sleeping, eating, potty and play which in turn makes your job easier when it is time to housetrain your puppy. We also keep our puppies clean and work to establish good grooming habits early on. Puppies are given a sponge bath daily from around 3.5-4 weeks of age with regular baths and positive exposure to the grooming tub as needed (usually 2-3 before 8 weeks of age). They also have their coats brushed and their nails trimmed weekly. Starting these things early makes it so much easier for our puppy families and groomers later on and will make grooming less stressful for the puppy. /

Transportation and Crate Training
We begin crate training at around 4 weeks of age. We start slowly, by just allowing them to sleep in an open crate at will. We slowly transition them to sleeping in a closed crate with a buddy for a short time and then eventually they do alone time for a couple of hours each day. We are careful observe their fear 5-6 week period so as not to imprint negative associations with the crate. They normally have their first car ride at around 6 weeks of age with positive car exposure leading up to their first ride. Many of our puppies fly in cabin with us or travel many miles by car to their new home. We do our best to prepare them for their travels so that the stress of leaving their littermates and setting off on their new adventure will be as minimal as possible. We have flown with many puppies and have never had one that cried in their crate during the flight. We get so many comments from people in the airports on how calm our puppies are during travel. I credit that to the many hours spent exposing and preparing them for go home day! /

Facility & Set Up
We carefully designed our "Dog House" also known as, The Puppy Palace, so that it was easily adaptable for every stage of the puppies' life from newborn to toddler - with whelping, training, and exposure in mind. Preparing and setting up our puppies for success when they transition to their forever families is of utmost importance to us. We have developed a unique schedule and system that changes the puppies' set up based on their ages and stages of development. Timing is key to making these transitions and plays a significant role in how well puppies adapt to change, how confident they are in new settings, and how quickly they pick up new things such as potty training. We specifically designed our Puppy Palace with these changes in mind so that it is easily adaptable to each stage of the puppies' life from birth to 12 weeks and beyond. Each litter has access to their own doggy door which the puppies have learned to use by 4-5 weeks and are reliably using it to go outside to potty by around 7 weeks. While our facility is not large, it is well stocked with all of the amenities that one would ever need to successfully raise a well rounded and socialized litter of puppies. With a 40 acre "yard" to explore and room for endless play. Our facility is beautifully finished with whitewashed pine walls, LVP flooring, custom cabinets and shelving and is equipped with a grooming station, kitchenette, washer and dryer, heat and ac unit - our puppies truly have their own little "Puppy Palace". We feel blessed beyond measure to have the privilege of raising them in their own slice of paradise located in the foothills of the Ozark mountains. /
